I'm giving away $1,000,000 today!!! . . . April Fools!!!! Ok, so that one was a fib, but, I am participating in a really fun blog hop where you do have a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card. A BIG thanks to Kelly at Speech 2U for setting this all up! How does this work? I am going to write down three statements about myself. Two of the statements are facts, and one is a fib. You can start out at Speech 2U and grab a map to keep track of where you have been, and to write down everyone's fib. Keep track of each bloggers fib, and then complete the quiz at the end of this post. The person with the most correct answers will win a $50 Amazon gift card. In the event of a tie, we will determine a winner by using random.org. The winner will be selected on the morning of April 7th. Ready? Here are my three statements: A) I hung out with Martha Stewart at the opening of the Bellagio hotel and casino in Las Vegas in October, 1998. B) I have been hang glidin...

At the beginning of this month, I met a fun milestone over at Teachers Pay Teachers. To celebrate, I am offering a milestone freebie for you to grab. This activity packet contains 46 cards that target two different areas of categorization. The first is Category naming. The second is divergent naming within categories. You can use these cards a few ways. The first way is by using the included game board. Simply have students draw a card, answer, and then roll some dice to move along the board. The second way is to use the cards by themselves and have students collect correctly answered cards. The third way to use the cards is by playing a memory game using both decks. This packet is a part of my Summer Camp: Expressive Game . You can also get three different packets of Summer Camp Games in my Summer Camp Language and Grammar Games Bundle. Thank you to everyone for being a part of my Milestone Celebration! ...

Welcome to my new installment: Tips and Tricks on Tuesdays! I am going to share quick tips and tricks that help me get through my crazy days. My first tip is for storing cards that go with TpT activities. I started out using big Ziploc bags for each activity, but the bags never seemed to close right, and the cards still ended up all over the place. When I did my file cabinet makeover last summer, I vowed to re-organize my TpT products, especially my book companions. I decided to put each book companion in a hanging green file, and put each individual activity in its own file folder. But, what would I do with all of those cards to keep them from falling out of the files when I picked them up? Solution: envelopes. I take a business sized envelope and seal it. Then, I cut it in half and glue it to the inside of my file folder. I label the envelope as needed, and I can place my cards inside without worry that they will be sliding all over the inside of the file fol...

This month over at The Frenzied SLPs, we are talking about why we feel lucky to be SLPs. I feel lucky for so many reasons lately, and a lot of them have to do with this blog and my TpT store. Having the opportunity to share ideas at both of these places has really allowed me to bring more creativity into my therapy sessions. It has made me think broader and farther than I ever thought I would. I love creating my own materials and seeing kids really love using them too! I also love to hear that many of you love using these materials with your students also! The main reasons I feel lucky to be an SLP on a daily basis truly is the variety of students that I get to work with. I am blessed to have some of the best kids around (I might be biased). I love that my day can go from getting a smile or small interaction from one of my students who are non-verbal, all the way to bantering with some of my super fun fifth grade language students. My days are different all the time! I a...
